Gillian Board CRM5, MAR Clinical Reflexologist in Weston-super-Mare

As a Limbic Reflexologist I have found this way of providing a reflexology treatment to have been beneficial to people with fibromyalgia and other neurological conditions. When I plan a bespoke treatment I would consider if this type of reflexology would be suited to my Client, alongside other techniques.

Limbic Reflexology focuses on the reflex areas on the feet that reflexologists believe to reflect the subcortical structures and nuclei of the brain. These structures are largely responsible for filtering information from our external, and internal world, and for generating our autonomic and behaviour responses, to that information. This includes our emotional responses, and our response to our experience of pain. These structures and nuclei are commonly referred to as the limbic brain.

The limbic brain networks are at the centre of the regulatory processes that we call homeostasis, and the restoration of homeostatic norms is the goal of any Reflexology approach.

Limbic Reflexology Training is an AOR approved CPD course for Reflexologists. it provides insights into the complex processes of the brain and offers a range of Limbic brain reflex areas and the techniques for working those areas.

Working new precision reflex areas in the feet, using specific techniques, we can now hope to connect with the brain networks that underpin many complex disabling conditions, including emotional pain, traumatic memory, pain, and chronic pain.

These reflex areas are pinpoint areas, and with an understanding of the underlying neurobiology and pathology of a condition, very specific treatment protocols may be established.

Limbic Reflexology and the training was developed by a Reflexologist with forty five years experience in mental health nursing, It provides an intervention in a wide range of problems relating to disregulation of the limbic brain .

Limbic Reflexology is based on sound medical science, and finds its rationale, and is informed by, up-to-date research in neuroscience. The effectiveness of Limbic reflexology treatments are evidenced by the use of widely accepted outcome measures. Both the neuroscience research and the outcome measures form an important part of the training.

At the present time I am the only Limbic Reflexologist in the South West. Based in Weston-super-Mare, located along the M5 which is easily accessible to anyone in the surrounding areas like Bristol and Bridgwater.
